The Castle Lite National Basketball League Game week 18 tipped off on Wednesday with 2 fixtures on the menu card.
The KCCA Panthers managed to complete the double against the UCU Canons and this game had a lot of similarities to their match up in round one.
The Canons led for more than 30 minutes but the result did not go their way in the end. Having trailed by as many as 12, the Panthers cut the deficit in the third quarter and 2 minutes after the fourth, they had tied the game.
The game went back and forth till the final seconds but KCCA came out on top with a 72:70 win.
Caesar Kizito had a team high 18 points, Stephen Otoa had 17 while Okumu Demunu had 13.
Joel Kayiira was the only one with a double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds. Norbert Okidi finished with a team-high 16 points.
The JT Lady Jaguars registered yet another victory after overcoming the UPDF Lady Tomahawks 74:44 in the opener of NBL Game week 18.
The Lady Jaguars took a 12-point l3ad after the first quarter and they finished off the job in the second half.
Mary Priscilla Nambogo led in scoring with 18 points, 11 coming in the fourth quarter. Brenda Kayaga finished with 17 points but 12 were in the first quarter. Sarah Ageno (16), Mercy Batamuliza (16), and Among Annet (13) all collected 10+ rebounds.
Stella Marris Lunkuse was the only UPDF player in double digits with 17 rebounds and she led their scoring with 9 points.
The Castle Lite National Basketball League returns on Friday with the KIU Rangers taking on JKL Lady Dolphins while KCCA Panthers take on the City Oilers.
