About FUBA

FUBA, the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations, is the National governing body for basketball in Uganda. Affiliated to National Council of Sports (NCS) and Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) Founded in 1962, we bring together 61 basketball teams from mainly the central region of the country and our aim is to spread the game of basketball all over the country. We organize and oversee all national league games, secondary school games, university games , 3X3 Basketball, international competitions that include the zonal qualifiers and club championships when we are hosts. We establish our official basketball rules as well as the regulations that govern the relationships between the different members of the basketball community guided by the FIBA Basketball Rules and regulations. our main offices are located at Mtn Arena Lugogo, Kampala, P.O. Box 7637, Kampala

 

A short version of basketball was introduced called 3X3 in 2010. 3×3 is simple and flexible enough to be played anywhere by anybody. All you need is a hoop, a half-court, and six players. Events can be staged outdoor and indoor in iconic locations to bring basketball directly to the people. It became an Olympic sport on June 9, 2017 (www.fiba3x3.com) In Uganda we have the senior teams both men and women, U23 and U18 both boys and girls Uganda Is ranked 56th in the world and in the 6th position in Africa with all categories combined.
